Have Hat, Will Rabbit

Monday was all NBC, thanks to Prison Break's fall finale, and they pulled out all the stops. My next stop? Mile-a-Minute Comments.
Heroes: Now that’s how to hang a cliff, kids. Was worried that they’d fallen into the trap of spoiling the “one of these Heroes will lose their life” shocker via scenes from next week, but they pulled it out by killing one and putting another in serious jeopardy. All while teasing big battles to come. Well done – can’t wait ‘til Jan.
Studio 60: Curse you, Bradley Whitford. A 4.1 quake taking down the 10 is nonsense. The ongoing Matt & Harriet saga is toothless. Fighting the FCC was beyond random. And yet… when Danny tells Jordan that he loves her and if that makes her wanna run, she better get a head start because he’s coming for her, the whole damn thing worked.

Actually, the part about fighting the FCC was not so random. The threat of fines from the FCC - even for live programming, like the newscast on last night's episode - is very real. PBS news programs on the war in Iraq, Saving Private Ryan, and even attempts to televise the funeral of Pat Tillman have all been either edited or cancelled out of fear of major fines.

For more information on how the threat of government fines is putting a real damper on everything from newscasts to live sports programming, go to www.televisionwatch.org

60 is hitting its stride, Geo. Last week and this week worked well, and its starting to find a voice. Even the "To Catch a Predator" sketch was pretty funny. Toothless, indeed!

TV Watch: Oh, agree on the basic principle of fighting the FCC. What was random was the connection to Jack Rudolph's character.

He's already proven he'll fight for the show, fight for Jordan, fight for TV in general, etc. So he's a standup guy – was this stance to prove he's a REALLY standup guy?

Frank: Also agree, although "To Catch a Predator" didn't grab me as much. Toothless is the Matt & Harriet relationship – too soon and who cares.
